KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Leong Assurance Bhd (HLA) has collected RM10mil in premiums since the soft launch of its HLA Promise life insurance policy on July 14.
Life division chief operating officer Loh Guat Lan said the policy was for customers as young as one month to 55 years old, hence the strong interest it had generated.
“HLA Promise comes in the right time for those who want to plan and save for the future,” she said at the launch of the product yesterday.
HLA group managing director/chief executive officer Charlie E. Oropeza said he viewed the current economic uncertainty as an opportunity to customise insurance policies that could alleviate the consumers’ burden.

“When we design our products, we always think of our customers’ needs. We look at how best we can address their concern, lighten their burden and let them focus on other equally important matters in life,” he said.
The HLA Promise guarantees cash payment, including a lump sum benefit at maturity.
It also allows flexible payments for six years, eight years and 10 years, depending on the sum assured and with a minimum protection of RM20,000 sum assured for a start.
The reinforced benefit will help customers secure guaranteed regular cash payments for themselves or their families so that in the event of death, the cash payments will continue to be paid until maturity.
“The company has put a lot of thought into making HLA Promise a comprehensive plan for our customers,” Oropeza said.
He added that with this plan, its customers’ wishes to receive regular cash payment as well as lump sum benefit at maturity would be fulfilled.
