PAMB to send aid to China and Myanmar
Remember the Prudential Caring Fund that I shared with you in previous post? Now the money will be giving the the victims of Sichuan, China and Myanmar. The event is captured in The Star Business Malaysia.
KUALA LUMPUR: Prudential Assurance Malaysia Bhd (PAMB) has collected a total of RM480,000 from its staff and agency force under its Prudential Caring Fund in aid of the victims of the recent calamities in Sichuan, China and Myanmar.
Chief marketing officer Thomas Wong said half the funds would be channelled to China through PAMB’s regional office in Hong Kong, while funds to Myanmar would be channelled locally through Yayasan Sin Chew and MERCY Malaysia.

“Prudential China had extended tremendous amount of help by setting up a local fund raising campaign as well as a blood donation drive.
“However, we feel that we should all do our bit to help the victims, especially young children whose lives have been adversely affected by the disaster,” he said at a cheque presentation ceremony recently.
Meanwhile, a team of volunteers and PAMB staff will be deployed in batches to ensure continuity of the programmes and strategies on longer-term plans. The Prudential Caring Fund, which was first launched in 2004 after the Tsunami disaster, was reopened from May 19-30. It receives individual donations from staff and agents with the company matching the funds on a one-on-one basis.
